Senior veterinarians available until midnight — Monday and Wednesday through Sunday. In-house lab results in under 15 minutes. Call before you come so we can prepare. For situations after midnight, go to the nearest 24-hour facility.
When to Come In
When in doubt — call us. Our team will assess the situation over the phone and advise on urgency. Do not drive to the clinic first and call from the car park.
If your dog or cat has swallowed a toy, bone, sock, medication, rat poison or any other object — contact us within 2 hours of ingestion. Within this window, it is often possible to empty the stomach without surgical intervention. After 2 hours, the object moves further into the digestive tract. At that point, surgery often becomes the only option. Do not give food or water. Do not wait to see if it passes. Call us now.
Before You Come In
A 2-minute call before you leave home means we are ready when you arrive. It also means our team can advise you on what to do — or not do — during transport.
Describe what happened, when it happened and any symptoms you are seeing. Our team assesses urgency and prepares for your arrival. +971 58 511 7557.
When did symptoms start? What did your pet swallow, and when? Any recent medication changes? This information saves time when you arrive and helps us act faster.
Keep your pet still and warm during transport. Do not give food, water or medication without speaking to us first. Cats: in a carrier. Dogs: on a lead or carried if unable to walk.
When You Arrive
Urgent cases are managed with structure and speed. Here is what you can expect.
Why Best Pet Vet for Urgent Care
An urgent case at 9pm deserves the same standard of care as one at 9am. At Best Pet Vet, it gets exactly that.
CBC, biochemistry, organ function, cardiac markers — all in-house. In an urgent case, waiting 24 hours for external lab results is not acceptable. Our laboratory delivers results in under 15 minutes, allowing us to begin treatment immediately with full diagnostic information.
Urgent cases are not managed by less experienced staff. Senior veterinarians educated at respected European universities, with advanced training and over 25 years of clinical experience, handle every case that comes through our doors — regardless of the time.
Abdominal ultrasound, echocardiography and advanced digital radiography — available on-site. When an urgent case requires imaging to understand what is happening inside, we do not refer out. We assess, image and treat in the same visit.
GI stasis in a rabbit and egg binding in a bird are life-threatening conditions. Best Pet Vet treats exotic animal urgent cases with the same seriousness as dogs and cats. Please call ahead so the right specialist is ready.
Maja describes this directly in her own words: what matters to owners is feeling safe, informed and not left in the dark. In an urgent situation, we explain every step — what we are doing, why, and what to expect next. You are never left wondering.
