"Surgery requires preparation, not just skill. Before any procedure, we confirm the animal is ready. During the procedure, we monitor continuously. After — we give owners a clear plan, not just a discharge note. That is the standard we hold ourselves to."

Why Best Pet Vet

Surgery With Structure.
Not a Production Line.

Every surgical patient is assessed as an individual. Maja puts it simply: the goal is that pets and owners feel safe and cared for — not processed. That is how we approach surgery.

1

Pre-operative blood panel included — results in 15 minutes

CBC, organ function markers and biochemistry performed in-house before any anaesthesia. We do not guess whether your pet is ready — we confirm it. Results in under 15 minutes, on the day of the procedure.

2

100% senior veterinarians educated at respected European universities

Dr. Davor and Dr. Maya are senior veterinarians educated at respected European universities, with advanced training and over 25 years of surgical experience. All doctors hold valid UAE licenses and work with structured modern protocols. Every surgical patient is handled by a senior vet — not delegated down.

3

Continuous anaesthesia monitoring

Your pet is monitored throughout the entire procedure. This is internationally recognised best practice and non-negotiable at Best Pet Vet. You will not be told "the surgery went well" without knowing exactly how your pet was managed during it.

4

Pain management as standard — not optional

Adequate pain control before, during and after surgery is part of every procedure. internationally recognised analgesia protocols. Your pet wakes up comfortable — not just awake.

5

Exotic animals — surgical capability that few clinics offer

Rabbits, birds, reptiles and other exotic species can be operated on at Best Pet Vet. Exotic surgery requires adapted anaesthesia, positioning and monitoring — a level of specialist capability that relatively few veterinary clinics in Abu Dhabi provide.

FAQ

Common Questions About Pet Surgery

At what age should I spay or neuter my pet?
The optimal age varies by species, breed and size. There is no single universal answer — your senior veterinarian will assess your pet individually and advise the timing that is right for your specific animal. Contact us to discuss your pet's situation before making a decision.
Is a blood test required before surgery?
Yes — always. A pre-anaesthetic blood panel is performed in-house before every surgical procedure at Best Pet Vet. Results are available in under 15 minutes. This confirms organ function, blood cell counts and overall readiness for anaesthesia. We do not proceed with surgery without this confirmation.
My pet swallowed something — how urgent is this?
Very urgent. If a foreign object has been swallowed, contact us immediately. Within the first 2 hours it is often possible to empty the stomach without surgical intervention. After that window, the object may move further into the digestive tract and surgery becomes the only option. Do not wait to see if it passes.
How long is the recovery after spay or neuter?
Most pets are alert and moving within hours of surgery. Your senior veterinarian will advise the specific recovery period based on the procedure and your pet's individual situation. Bathing and contact with other animals should be avoided during recovery. Full written aftercare instructions are provided before you leave the clinic — with a clear follow-up timeline.
Do you perform surgery on exotic animals?
Yes. Best Pet Vet performs surgical procedures on exotic animals including rabbits, birds and reptiles. Exotic surgery requires specialist knowledge, adapted anaesthesia protocols and specific monitoring equipment — a level of care that relatively few clinics in Abu Dhabi provide. Please call or WhatsApp ahead so the right team member is prepared for your animal.
How much does pet surgery cost in Abu Dhabi?
Surgical costs vary depending on the procedure, your pet's size and species, anaesthesia requirements and any additional diagnostics needed. We focus on delivering the highest standard of veterinary care. Contact us directly with your pet's details for an accurate estimate — we provide full cost transparency before any procedure begins.
