The Difference That Matters

Results During Your Appointment.
Not the Next Day.

When your pet is unwell, waiting 24 to 48 hours for a diagnosis is not acceptable. At Best Pet Vet, it never happens.

Most Abu Dhabi Clinics

Sample sent to external lab

Blood drawn at the clinic. Sample packaged and sent to an external laboratory. Results arrive the following day — or two days later. Your pet waits. Treatment is delayed. You go home without answers.

"Same day results" — the standard claim, meaning results by end of business.

Best Pet Vet

Blood drawn. Processed in our in-house lab. Results read by your senior veterinarian before you leave. Treatment plan formed the same day. No waiting. No callbacks. No uncertainty overnight.

"Results during your appointment" — not a marketing claim. It is how we work.

M
"We perform everything from standard CBC blood panels, biochemistry up to 24 parameters, hormones, cardiac markers, immunofluorescence, urinalysis and coprology, through to PCR testing for the full spectrum of infectious diseases."

Why Best Pet Vet

The Lab That Thinks,
Not Just Tests.

Running a blood panel is straightforward. Knowing which panel to run, interpreting the results in the full clinical context, and forming the right treatment plan — that is the skill. That is what 25+ years of senior clinical experience delivers.

1

Results during the appointment — not 24–48 hours later

Our entire laboratory operates in-house. CBC, biochemistry, hormones, cardiac markers, urinalysis — all processed and read by your senior vet before you leave. Treatment begins the same day.

2

PCR machine in-house — rare in Abu Dhabi

Most veterinary clinics in Abu Dhabi send PCR samples to an external facility — adding days to results. Best Pet Vet has a PCR machine on-site, enabling PCR Rapid Multi-Disease Testing with results in as little as 45 minutes — supporting immediate treatment decisions.

3

Immunofluorescence — advanced diagnostic capability

Detection of immune-mediated conditions using fluorescent antibody markers. This is an advanced laboratory technique not available at every veterinary clinic in Abu Dhabi. Relevant for immune skin diseases, haematological disorders and complex systemic conditions.

4

Biochemistry up to 24 parameters — the full picture

Many clinics offer a standard biochemistry panel of 12 to 15 markers. Our panel covers up to 24 parameters — liver, kidneys, pancreas, electrolytes, proteins, enzymes and more. More data points mean fewer gaps in the diagnostic picture.

5

senior veterinarians interpret every result

A number on a printout means nothing without clinical context. Dr. Davor and Dr. Maya — educated at respected European universities, 25+ years of clinical experience — read and explain your pet's results directly. You understand what the findings mean and what happens next.

FAQ

Common Questions About Pet Blood Tests

How quickly are blood test results available?
At Best Pet Vet, the majority of blood work is processed and returned during the same appointment. CBC, biochemistry, cardiac markers, hormones and organ function tests are all performed in our in-house laboratory — your senior veterinarian reads and discusses the results before you leave. You do not wait 24 to 48 hours for an external lab to return results.
What tests are included in your blood panel?
We offer a complete in-house laboratory panel: CBC (complete blood count), biochemistry up to 24 parameters, hormones (thyroid, cortisol, insulin, reproductive), cardiac markers, immunofluorescence for immune-mediated conditions, urinalysis, coprology (stool analysis) and PCR molecular testing for a full spectrum of infectious diseases.
Does my pet need blood tests before surgery?
Yes — a pre-anaesthetic blood panel is performed before every surgical or dental procedure at Best Pet Vet. This confirms organ function, blood cell counts and overall readiness for anaesthesia. Results are available during the pre-operative appointment itself. We do not proceed with any procedure until we have confirmed the animal is ready.
What is PCR testing and why does it matter?
PCR (polymerase chain reaction) is a molecular diagnostic method that identifies infectious agents at the DNA/RNA level — significantly more sensitive than conventional testing for many diseases. Best Pet Vet has a PCR machine in-house, which is uncommon in Abu Dhabi. Most clinics send PCR samples to an external laboratory, adding days to the result turnaround. Our in-house PCR means infectious disease diagnosis during the same appointment.
What is immunofluorescence?
Immunofluorescence is a laboratory technique used to detect immune-mediated conditions — diseases where the body's immune system attacks its own tissues. It identifies specific antibodies using fluorescent markers. This is an advanced diagnostic capability that Best Pet Vet offers in-house, relevant for certain skin diseases, haematological disorders and systemic immune conditions.
How should I prepare my pet for a blood test?
For biochemistry panels — particularly liver and organ function tests — fasting for a period beforehand improves accuracy. Your senior vet will advise the exact preparation when you book, based on which tests are indicated. Water is generally not restricted. For most other tests, standard preparation applies. The blood draw itself is quick and well-tolerated by most pets.
