Preventive Pet Care

Why Pet Vaccination Is Important

Vaccines are the single most effective tool for protecting your pet from life-threatening infectious diseases — whether they go outdoors or not.

🦠

Prevent Dangerous Diseases

Vaccines protect against rabies, parvovirus, feline leukemia, distemper and more — diseases that can be fatal even with treatment.

🏥

Prevention vs. Treatment

Treating a vaccine-preventable illness is significantly more expensive and stressful than a routine vaccination visit.

👨‍👩‍👧

Protect Your Family Too

Zoonotic diseases like rabies can be transmitted to humans. Vaccinating your pet protects your entire household.

📋

UAE Legal Requirement

Rabies vaccination is mandatory under UAE law for all registered dogs and cats. Required for travel certificates and boarding.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need to Know

Is rabies vaccination mandatory in Abu Dhabi?
Yes. Rabies vaccination is legally required for all registered dogs and cats in Abu Dhabi and across the UAE. It is also a prerequisite for official travel certificates, pet passports, and boarding facilities. Our vets ensure full compliance and advise on renewal timelines.
Do indoor cats need to be vaccinated?
Yes — even fully indoor cats require core vaccines. Viruses like feline panleukopenia can be brought in on clothing or shoes. Rabies vaccination also remains a legal requirement regardless of whether your cat goes outside.
When should puppies and kittens start their vaccines?
Ideally at 6–8 weeks of age. Puppies and kittens receive a series of vaccinations every 3–4 weeks until approximately 16 weeks, after which full immunity is established. As Dr. Davor says — prevention is always better than treatment.
How often do adult pets need booster shots?
Most core vaccines require annual boosters. Some formulations extend to every 3 years after the initial series. Rabies in the UAE is typically renewed annually. Our senior vets design a personalised schedule based on your pet's age, health, and lifestyle.
How much does pet vaccination cost in Abu Dhabi?
Our focus is on delivering the highest standard of veterinary care, not on competing on price. Contact us directly for a full breakdown of our vaccination packages. Many clients find our quality-to-price ratio exceptional given the seniority of our team.
Can you vaccinate exotic animals?
Yes. Best Pet Vet treats all exotic animals — birds, rabbits, reptiles and more. Most clinics in Abu Dhabi do not treat exotics; we specialise in them. Please call ahead so the right specialist is available for your companion.
How long does it take to get lab results?
Our in-house laboratory delivers complete blood work — CBC, biochemistry panels, cardiac markers and more — in under 15 minutes. If your vet needs to check your pet's health before vaccinating, you will have answers before you leave the clinic.
